Teacher Appreciation Week:

It has been a wonderful week celebrating our teachers and staff. Enormous appreciation goes out to the PTO for all their efforts to make the staff feel extra special this week. From coffee, candy, snack, t-shirts, lunch and raffles. It was a wonderful week to be a part of the teaching staff at Windsor.

Spring Concert:

Our Spring Concert will take place next Tuesday, May 17th at 6:00 in the high school theater. Students are asked to arrive at 5:45 and sit with their classes and supervising teachers. The performance begins and 6:00. We hope families mark their calendars and plan to attend this annual elementary event.

Kindergarten Registration: Windsor's kindergarten registration will take place on Thursday and Friday, May 14th and 15th. During this time we welcome our upcoming kindergarten students and take time to meet and connect with families. There is no school for current kindergartners. If you have an incoming student, you should receive information from the office in the near future. Be sure to call the school with any questions you may have. We look forward to meeting you on the 14th and 15th.

Middle School Good News

Congratulations - April Students of the Month, S. Simond, B. Dougher, A. Holzwarth, and S. Magrath. Students were recognized for meeting their reading goals, being prepared for class activities, making improvements to their work, and putting forth best efforts in their classwork.

This Week - Students were putting the finishing touches on their Biome Board Games in Science class. Answering their trivia questions proved challenging and fun! We all look forward to playing out the games next week. In Social Studies class, students connected to their ELA unit on The Outsiders by preparing a mock trial based on the events in the novel. Students were divided into a prosecution and defense group and prepared by speaking with local attorneys for guidance and advice while preparing their arguments.

8th Grade Scheduling - Students met with the high school counselors on May 5th to talk about registering for their 9th grade courses. They were given a pink form to fill out and look over with their families. Please have your student turn these into Ms. Stanley on or before May 11th so the high school counselors can work on creating their schedules for next year. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Meade, high school counselor, at madison.murphy@wsesu.net

Echo Lake Science Center Trip - Some of our middle schoolers were able to visit the science center this week, enjoying the 3D movie about Dolly the sea creature, a descendant of the dinosaur family, the fresh fish aquarium with native VT wildlife, the interactive chairlift model, the steam tornado model, and learning about the myth about Champ. A great day was had by all!

Spring Concert- Please join us for the MS/HS Chorus and Band Ensembles performance this coming Wednesday, 5/13, at 6:00 PM in the HS theater. We look forward to seeing you there.

WSESU Middle School Musicians - The SU music team will be taking our music students on our annual trip to Six Flags on May 29th. They will compete against other schools from around New England in the morning and spend the afternoon at the amusement park. Please reach out to Mr. Stammelman or Ms. Wood if you have any questions.
